Emirates/dnata – a multi-billion – pound, global business with UK headquarters in Kingston - supply catering, baggage and sales services to both their own brands and the wider travel industry.

Their position at the centre of highly competitive market has been secured through constant innovation and an investment in technology.

The challenge.

dnata faced a number of hiring challenges when we were first engaged as their exclusive talent partner. Our remit was to: reduce the amount of time invested in recruitment; bring a more consistent approach to their interview process; and reduce their true cost of hiring.

Their need for outstanding talent coupled with a location outside Central London had made it difficult for them to attract and secure the hires needed to drive the business forward.

Our solution.

With onsite presence from day one, Talent Point were fully embedded in the business, attending all interviews and working in tandem with their existing recruitment function.

We swiftly revamped their employer brand to ensure it was as attractive as possible to the talent we needed to engage. Given the reduced catchment area, this was key to ensuring hiring processes were sustainable long-term.

Crucially, our data-driven approach to planning roles ensured that all positions were aligned with employment markets whilst providing the greatest value for money to the business.

Through identifying the key skills and capabilities needed for each hire we created a highly efficient hiring process, agreeing screening criteria up front which we documented as interview crib sheets.

Finally, by attending interviews we maintained consistency across all teams and hiring managers, ensured the agreed criteria were thoroughly explored in every interview, and nurtured an enjoyable and positive candidate experience.

A clear success.

Our hiring methodology has brought predictability and stability to dnata’s hiring processes, helping them make key hires across the business from entry-level to Director.

Building out their Product function from scratch, we made key hires across the management function and grew their .Net engineering team with outstanding talent.

Additionally, whilst initially engaged to focus on technology, we soon also branched out into other areas of their business.

Ultimately, through intentional focus on their employer brand, unifying their approach to interviewing, and using market data to align roles to the current market conditions, we’ve accelerated the time to hire and ultimately reduced Emirates/dnata’s recruitment costs.
